Temple High Theatre Calendar 2021-2022

 
PRELIMINARY CALENDAR
SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Rehearsal schedules for each show are listed on the show's Information Page

For 2021-2022, high school hours change to 7:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
Most Monday-Friday rehearsals will be 3:15 to 5:30, but check each show's calendar
 

Saturday 8/7 9:00-3:00 = Texas Thespians Leadership Academy for Troupe Officers
      G. W. Carver High, 2100 S Victory St, Houston, TX 77088
Tuesday 8/24 = First day of classes
Monday & Tuesday 8-30 & 8/31 = Auditions for Blithe Spirit
     
(Students not cast may appear in Fall Footlights)

Monday 9/6 = Student holiday (Labor Day)
Friday 9/10 3:30-6:30 = Auditions for The Lion King Jr. (High school students)
Saturday 9/11 = Auditions for The Lion King Jr.
        9:00-1:00 and 2:00-5:00 Elementary and Middle school students
        (Parent/guardian needs to attend with the student)
Friday & Saturday 9/17 & 8/18 = Prop Room re-organization
Saturday 9/25 9:00-2:00 = Prepare for Texas Thespian competitions
Thursday-Sunday 9/30 - 10/2 = TETA (Texas Educational Theatre Association)
     Convention for teachers, Moody Gardens, Galveston

Monday 10/4 = Workday for Blithe Spirit
Wednesday 10/6 = School Final Dress Rehearsal for Blithe Spirit
Thursday-Sunday 10/7-10/10 = Performances of Blithe Spirit
Monday & Tuesday 10/11 & 10/12 = Auditions for Our Town
Saturday 10/16 9:00-2:00 = Prepare for Texas Thespian competitions
Saturday 10/30 = Thespian Halloween Party

Monday 11/1 = Our Town moves onto the stage
Saturday 11/6 = Fall Footlights, an evening of short plays
Sunday 11/7 3:00-6:00 = Prepare for Texas Thespian competitions
Wednesday 11/10 = School Final Dress Rehearsal for Our Town
Thursday-Sunday 11/11-11/14 = Performances of Our Town
Wednesday-Saturday 11/17-11/20 = Texas Thespians Convention, Grapevine
Monday-Friday 11/22-11/26 = Fall (Thanksgiving) Break

Saturday 12/4 = Temple Symphony Holiday Concert at the high school
Saturday 12/4 = Middle School UIL One-Act Play Contest at Meridith-Dunbar Auditorium
Tuesday 12/14 = Holiday Gift to the Community
Friday 12/17 = Early release for the holidays
Friday 12/17 = Thespian Christmas Party
Monday-Monday 12/20-1/3 = Winter Break (Christmas Holidays)

Monday 1/3 = Lion King Workday, set moves onto stage
Tuesday 1/4 = Classes resume
Friday 1/7 6:30 = Auditions for UIL One-Act Play
Saturday 1/8 9:00-2:00 = Workday for The Lion King Jr.
Saturday 1/15 9:00-2:00 = Workday for The Lion King Jr.
Monday 1/17 = Workday for The Lion King Jr.
Saturday 1/22 9:00-9:00 = Technical Rehearsal for The Lion King Jr.
Sunday 1/23 2:00-9:00 = Technical Rehearsal for The Lion King Jr.
Wednesday 1/26 = School Final Dress for The Lion King Jr.
Thursday-Sunday 1/27-1/30 = Performances of The Lion King Jr.
Monday 1/31 = Rehearsals begin for the one-act play

Friday 2/11 = Submission deadline for UIL Theatrical Design Contest
Saturday 2/19 = One-Act Play Clinic in Waxahachie
Friday 2/25 = One-Act Play Clinic

Friday & Saturday 3/4 & 3/5 = One-Act Play Retreat
Thursday 3/10 = UIL District Contest, One-Act Play, Harker Heights
     (Official rehearsals the day before, 3/9)
Monday-Friday 3/14-3/18 = Spring Break
Thursday 3/24 = UIL Bi-District Contest, One-Act Play, at Temple High
     (Official rehearsals the day before, 3/23)
Saturday 3/26 = UIL District Academics Contests, Belton

Saturday, April 2 = UIL Area Contest, One-Act Play, Midway ISD Perf Arts Ctr
     (Area judges: Eric Porter, Michelle Howard Schwind, Trip Langley)
Friday-Monday 4/15-4/18 = Easter Holidays
Saturday 4/23 = UIL Region Contest, One-Act Play, University High Waco
     (Regional judges: Margaret Valenta Davis, Scott Schumann, Eric Vera)
Saturday 4/23 = UIL Region Academics Contests

Tuesday & Wednesday 5/3 & 5/4 = UIL Theatrical Design State Finals
Thursday-Saturday 5/5-5/7 = UIL State Meet, One-Act Play
     (State meet judges: Rachel Mattox, Ezekiel Morgan, Perry Crafton)
Sunday 5/22 = Thespian Banquet
Thursday 5/26 = Last day of classes, early release
