"Chicago" Auditions Monday & Tuesday, Nov. 30 & Dec. 1

Auditions for Temple High's 2021 musical, Chicago: High School Edition, will be Monday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 1 at 4:15 p.m. in the auditorium. Applications for crew positions will also be taken at that time.
Monday auditions will include singing and dancing. Please prepare a short musical number (16-24 bars) that shows off your voice. Acapella is acceptable but it doesn't demonstrate your ability to sing with accompaniment. A CD player and an accompanist will be provided. Tuesday auditions will include callbacks and reading lines, plus singing and dancing for anyone that couldn't attend Monday.
The show is set in roaring twenties Chicago. Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap — until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Arrested and sent to jail, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines. Ultimately they join forces in search of fame, fortune and acquittal.
Specifically designed to be content-appropriate, Chicago: High School Edition has been adapted to remove overtly sexual references and adult language. The 2002 movie, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture, starred Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere and Queen Latifah.
Performances will be February 4-7, 2021. Students can receive a one-semester PE credit for participating in this musical. For more information on being in a show, click here or look under documents on this website.
