Temple's UIL One-Act Play team made it 24 years in a row as they were named District Co-Champion on March 30 and advanced to the bi-district contest. Temple's entry was Bug by Tracy Letts. Other advancing schools from District 17-5A were Connally High and Waco High. The critic judge was Scott Schumann.
Emma Tolleson was named Best Actress in the district. Andrew Tye was named to the All-Star Cast, and Ta'Shawn Chunn was selected for the Honorable Mention All-Star Cast. Chase Yerkes was named an All-Star Technician, and Temple's crew was chosen as Best Tech Crew in the district. The crew includes Chase Yerkes, Sam Little, Derresha Webb, Taylor Wilson and Dylan Prather.
The bi-district contest is Friday, April 1, at College Station High School. Critic judge is Kelly Parker. Three out of the six schools will advance to the area competition. Admission is $5 per person. The schedule includes:
